At St. Francis Episcopal Church, we continue our journey with Christ and each other through lectionary classes and book studies. We offer a variety of opportunities for parishioners and guests to join us in our journey. Below you can find a list of our current Faith Formation opportunities.
Sunday Morning Lectionary
The Lectionary discussion group is again meeting every Sunday at 10 o'clock in the St. Gregory Room (room to the left as you enter the Parish Hall). Each week this group discusses the current Sunday's readings from the three-year cycle of Sunday Lectionary readings from the Episcopal adaptation of the Revised Common Lectionary. In our discussions, we look for connections of these readings to our lives, to our parish, to the Church, to our community and to the world.
No advance study is necessary for the Lectionary class, but participants are encouraged to pick up Synthesis CE, the study guide for this class. Copies are available in the wall rack in the hallway across from the entrance to the Parish Hall. Each week's discussion stands on its own so it is not necessary to attend previous classes to participate in the current Sunday's class. Newcomers are always welcome.
