Hello everyone @lovemollykate here- while @benrwells is on a quick vacation to see family (yall wish his mom a very happy 103rd birthday yall!) we will flash back to the podcast episode that helped to start this whole thing:
When I was discerning if I was being called to the diaconate (spoiler alert: it was the lay ministry instead!) we did a series of interviews & podcast episodes on my podcast…. Which led to this Come As You Are project for @stfrancismacon
So with Father Ben’s permission we are sharing that initial episode here (if you are on Instagram you can screenshot, hold the cursor over the link, highlight, and then paste into a notes app because *spotify is being weird and I’ve tried multiple ways to do this) Or use this apple link: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/southern-bon-vivant/id1506966575?i=1000614943066
The images here are from my own past year (or so!) going through this process

You are invited to join us for a commemoration of the Appleton Deaconesses and blessing of the graves at the Appleton Plot in Rose Hill Cemetery on Wednesday, September 18, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. Please note there are stairs from the road up to the plot itself.
Directions:
After entering the main gate at Rose Hill, take the first right. Keep to the left fork and start down the hill. Pass the first street to the left and then park on the right side of the road you are on. Walk back to that narrower street and follow it to the steps of the Appleton plot. There will be signs along the way.

Hi everyone - @lovemollykate here, apologies for the late posting as I am traveling for the Caffeinated Church conference on behalf of St. Francis
This interview is with Melissa- and it stands out as we go into @maconpride week, which our parish is participating in
But it also stands out because I saw another minister on Instagram, @zachwlambert, post about leading the funeral for a young man who died- because he thought the church did not love him, because he’s gay
We here at St. Francis love YOU- all of yall, listen more here below or go to link in IG bio:

World Labyrinth Day is an annual event sponsored by The Labyrinth Society as a worldwide action to “walk as one at 1” local time to create a rolling wave of peaceful energy across the globe. Every year on the first Saturday in May thousands of people around the world participate in this moving meditation for world peace and celebration of the labyrinth experience. We invite you to join us at 1:00 pm to walk the labyrinth at 1:00 pm in the back yard of St. Francis Episcopal Church.
Join us for the ancient service of Tenebrae, which means "shadows" or "darkness" in Latin, that involves the gradual extinguishing of candles, symbolic of the growing darkness in the world as Jesus approaches his crucifixion.
