A Taizé service is held at St. Francis on the 4th Tuesday of every month at 6:00 pm. This form of worship is intended to allow peoples of all faith to come together in prayer and meditation.
“It is a time to rest in God, to let the words listened to and sung penetrate one’s being” says Brother John, a Taizé monk. There is no preaching, no teaching. There is just an elegantly simple service: short chants repeated over and over in the dark along with short Scripture readings and times of silence.
Taizé prayer began at a monastic community in Taizé, France, founded in the 1940's by a Swiss man known as Brother Roger.
Please join us and bring a friend. We can all use some time to rest in God.
