Episcopal 101, Part I

Episcopal 101 Classes (Spring intensive course)

Are you new to the Episcopal Church or curious about our beliefs, customs, and practices? Join our priests for this two-part semiannual class typically held during late winter/early spring before Easter and in the late fall. Classes are open to all but are required for adults who wish to join St. Francis and the Episcopal Church through Baptism or Reception. These classes are also required for youth ages 12-15 wishing to be confirmed.

The topics will include a brief history of Christianity manifested as Anglicanism in Britain and the world, including the Episcopal Church in America. We will study and discuss the Book of Common Prayer, sacraments and symbols, and the seasons of the church, how we pray and interpret scripture as Episcopalians, and how prayer shapes our believing but more importantly we will discuss how what we say we believe is put into action as love (service)  in the world.

Those being confirmed and received are invited to attend the next Diocesan Confirmation Service at The Cathedral of St. Philip in Atlanta on Sunday, April 2nd at 4 pm.
